Knowledgebase: Power Mask
What do I do if I received an error that said I didn't have enough memory when using Power Mask?

  • As with other Photoshop plug-ins and processes, Power Mask uses large contiguous chunks of Ram. You may see out of memory errors when Power Mask cannot access enough contiguous Ram because you don't have enough Ram or the Ram is too fragmented. If you occasionally get out of memory errors, restart Photoshop to defragment your Ram.
  • See how large of an image you can work with based on your system's Ram here.
  • Try reducing the amount of unknown areas in the trimap.
If the area that you are cutting out is smaller than the full size image, use the Rectangular Marquee tool to cut and paste the area into a smaller image. Apply Power Mask to this smaller image and when done, copy and paste the result back into the larger image.
